On Tuesday October 21th, I went to the Jesse Hart concert at the Geisha House (in Hollywood). I was in for a phenomenal show! Tuesday was my first time going to the Geisha House, and I must say it is a beautiful club (and restaurant). The colors and set up of the venue are laid back and classy yet hip and fun. Jesse Hart’s show was sponsored by Lucky 7 Clothing, Ed Hardy Watches, and Kewl Magazine. Before his performance, Jesse chatted with friends and fans. He wore a tan colored suit for the red carpet portion of the event. DJ Journey played popular and funky dance tunes while everyone mingled and got to know each other a little better. We were all excited to see Jesse’s performance! We didn’t have to wait much longer because he took the stage a little after 10:30pm dressed in a stylish black Lucky 7 t-shirt, blue jeans, and an Ed Hardy watch. Jesse introduced his guitarist Bobby G and his DJ- DJ Journey. I looked around the room and was thrilled to see a packed crowd who came out to support Jesse. The audience was about 65% women and 35% men.

Jesse started his performance off with a couple of his favorite covers. He remixed them while singing and rapping with ease. He immediately drew in the audience with his confidence, swagger, and rhythm. He had great eye contact; looking at the audience and engaging them the entire show. Jesse then performed his hit songs “With You”, “Fly Away”, “Bout It”, and “How We Do”. The audience danced and took pictures as he performed. Jesse, DJ Journey, and Bobby G make a superb team! They feed off of each other’s energy, and their different yet similar styles mesh together perfectly. Bobby G is rock with a rhythmic edge, DJ Journey is hip hop and electronica at it’s best, and Jesse blends rap, pop, soul, and R&B. When they perform together, everyone is guaranteed a high energy, harmonious, vibrant, and fun show!

Jesse serenaded women and melted hearts throughout the show. As he brought fans onto the stage, I noticed the large number of international supporters Jesse has. He had fans from Hungary, Venezuela, Brazil; the list goes on! It was magnificent to see an independent artist who was able to appeal to people from all over the world! Ed Hardy Watches gave away some beautiful gifts to a few lucky raffle winners, and unfortunately I was NOT one of those people. At the end of Jesse’s last song, the crowd gave him a thunderous applause and continued to cheer for him even after he left the stage!

After the show Jesse went downstairs, greeted fans, and took photos with them as they left the Geisha House. Jesse didn’t know that I was writing a review of his concert, and this was my first time meeting him. I watched as he joked with his fans and treated them with kindness. There was not one ounce of arrogance or impatience, and he looked every person in the eye! He hugged each fan, thanked them for coming to the show, and took as many pictures as they wanted. I have posted some of the photos Jesse and I took below. A couple of these pictures are courtesy of Lucky 7 Clothing.

All in all I give this concert 2 thumbs up! I had first heard about Jesse Hart through my good friends the Jackie Boyz. They made the hit club anthem “Bout It” with him. Jesse has star quality, charisma for days- he is the total package! But what makes Jesse so incredible is that he stands out from the sea of artists in the entertainment industry. There is NO well known guy in the music industry today who looks like Jesse AND does what he does. He sings, raps, writes his own music, and he doesn’t apologize for being different. Jesse shatters stereotypes, and doesn’t allow others to box him in. He creates his own lane! Even though a lot of his fans are female, Jesse also relates and appeals to guys too. It’s difficult to say which song was my favorite because I enjoyed EVERY song he performed! “With You”, “Fly Away”, “Bout It”, and “How We Do” are all songs that I could listen to over and over again. And the fact that Jesse is humble and compassionate only adds to his allure and charm. Next time you’re out in Hollywood be sure to catch Jesse Hart in concert with the dynamite DJ Journey and terrific Bobby G!
